Seawater desalination equipment refers to the equipment specially used to desalinate seawater. Seawater desalination mainly adopts two methods, namely distillation and reverse osmosis.
distillation method
Distillation is mainly used in large-scale seawater desalination and places rich in heat energy. Reverse osmosis membrane method is widely used because of its wide application and high desalination rate.
The reverse osmosis membrane method firstly extracts seawater, carries out preliminary treatment to reduce the turbidity of seawater and prevent the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria and algae, and then pressurizes the seawater with a special high-pressure pump to make the seawater enter the reverse osmosis membrane. Due to the high salt content of seawater,
Therefore, the seawater reverse osmosis membrane must have the characteristics of high desalination rate, corrosion resistance, high pressure resistance and pollution resistance. After the seawater is treated by reverse osmosis membrane, its salt content is greatly reduced, and the TDS content is reduced from 36,000 mg/L to about 200 mg/L.
The desalinated water quality is even better than tap water, so it can be used by industry, commerce, residents, ships and warships.
Reverse osmosis method:
Seawater with high salt content and hardness is corrosive to equipment, and the seasonal variation of water temperature makes the reverse osmosis seawater desalination system much more complicated than the conventional brackish water desalination system, and the engineering investment and energy consumption are also much higher.
Therefore, it is particularly important to reduce the project investment and energy consumption through careful process design and reasonable equipment configuration, so as to reduce the unit water production cost and ensure the stable operation of the system.
